After Christ’s Resurrection, He now holds all the keys to heaven and hell, as Matthew 16:19 says, and gives them to his apostles (some say to Simon Peter alone) :: “I will give you  the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on Earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on Earth shall be loosed in heaven”.

In the Talmud and the Targum, four keys are held only by the Eternal King, who gives them to no ministering angel. One key is to the grave (death), the other to Hell.

In Revelation 1:18, Christ tells the recording prophet Apostle John: “I am He that liveth and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, Amen, and have the keys of Hell and of Hades.”
