Chrismon 10

The chalice–or the cup.

Most people think of the Last Supper in the Upper Room, when Christ poured the wine and shared with the disciples, the wine representing the blood he would soon spill.

Later, in the Garden of Gethsamane, Christ cries out to God: “Let this cup pass from me” yet then he submits to the Father’s purpose: “Not my will, but thine be done.”
